How K-12 Education System works in Saudi Arabia
K-12 Education in Saudi Arabia i.e. 12 years of school education starts in a child's life by the time he/she attains 5/6 years of age. Pre-primary education is not compulsory but there are many Kindergartens to prepare small kids for elementary education. In cities and major towns often children attend pre-school before moving to formal school.
For teaching of Classes 1 to 12 there are both type of school i.e. Schools administered by the Ministry of Education and International schools. Education is standardized and at secondary level students choose particular areas like humanities, science, or commerce etc.
